This article is in reference to a post I made on
(Jacob Prasch's) Moriel Message Board in the Expository Bible Study Forum in February, 2003 that was deleted almost immediately and without explanation. My posting privileges were also instantly terminated. The name of the thread is Lucifer. I was planning on leaving the forum but remained there a bit longer because I was shocked that readers were being conditioned to think that the occult in fantasy form is acceptable to God and that Satan cannot harm a Christian. It reminded me of Jim Pappas' slant on Pilgrim's Progress: Satan Has No Power?
I responded to the Lucifer thread on the Moriel Message Board because I was grieved that a poster who claimed to be a Christian was quoting sources that promote the New Age lie that Lucifer is not Satan, and is actually the Lord Jesus Christ. Moriel Ministries did not counter this post and caution this poster to dispense with such commentaries that promote the New Age agenda and blaspheme the Lord Jesus Christ.
Shortly after I posted a letter which included a warning that Lucifer is not Jesus Christ, it was deleted from the Moriel Message board. I am now writing a new article pertaining to the Lucifer thread and sharing it here because I am no longer permitted to post to the Moriel Message Board.
The Lord Jesus Christ is NOT Lucifer
The Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown’s commentary on Isaiah 14:12-15: v12 states:
Lucifer – “day star”. A title truly belonging to Christ (Rev 22:16), “the bright and morning star” and hereafter to be assumed by Antichrist. (end quote)
According to this commentary, Lucifer
means "day star" which is "a title truly belonging to Christ." Does Lucifer really mean day star?
Day star appears only once in the Bible:
"2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:"
Look at the context of the phrase, "day star" within this verse. It is plain that "day star" refers to the Lord Jesus Christ rising in your heart, not Satan!
The very next verse tells us:
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." 2 Pe 1:19.
To assert that day star means Lucifer is a private interpretation that will set the Christian up to eventually merge with the occult Kingdom of Antichrist! Occult means hidden, and private interpretations are interpretations that derive hidden or secret meanings in the Holy Bible. It is only by the derivation of a hidden (occult) meaning that one could possibly come to the conclusion that Lucifer means "day star."
This commentary stated blasphemy, and I suspect that most Bible study notes and footnotes say essentially the same thing. New Agers need Christians to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ and Lucifer are the same, but merely appear to be different and they are actively teaching this falsehood:
One of today's most influential New Age authors and lecturers, David Spangler, teaches on Lucifer and "Christ." In his book, Reflections on the Christ, Spangler explains that "Christ is the same force as Lucifer but moving in seemingly the opposite direction" and that "Christ is the perfect balance to Lucifer."

God will revive your spirit if you will renounce the modern practice of believing the scholars over the
written Word of God and repent before him:
"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Is. 57:15

South Africa Director, why he chose to identify himself with the satanic Star Wars character, Darth Sith Master:

Would you please explain how identifying yourself with an occultic character--a Sith Master-- is glorifying to the Lord Jesus Christ?
Your positions are Pastor of Aletheia CC and Director of Moriel Missions South Africa.
I am assuming that Moriel is in agreement with you being in leadership with them and promoting the occultic Star Wars by the phrase you have chosen to identify yourself with. Is that correct?
Are occult-themed movies pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ? If not, then why are you identifying yourself with one? Is the occult a joke to the Lord Jesus Christ? Is it a joke to you and also another moderator on this forum? What is going on here?

I have just learned that the Midrach is promoted and studied here at Moriel.
What is the Midrash? Well, in searches the word appears pretty consistently with the Talmud, Jewish Mysticism and the Kabbalah. In fact, the Midrash is a part of the Talmud, correct?
What is Moriel's definition of the Midrash and what does this have to do with Jewish mysticism-- Kabbalah?

The Lord Jesus Christ commands His people to touch not the unclean thing. The unclean thing can come in the form of spiritual writings, symbols, fictional entertainment, making light of sin, or other ways.
"Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour." Proverbs 14:9.
The world does such things because they are in darkness, but a Christian knows this is sin in the sight of God.
I exposed the problem and they removed me. If you are a Christian and are posting at Moriel, you have the obligation before God to counter posts (yes even by the moderators and administrators) that portray God as tolerating darkness in his own people! God is absolutely holy, with no darkness at all. Souls are at stake, and the narrow way includes you being willing to stand up for Jesus on the internet.

I warn against yoking with the Moriel Ministries
Message Board because Dave Royle refused to answer me publicly when I asked him if they had any present articles which warn against the Kabbalah. The Kaballah is Jewish Mysticism and is a powerful doorway for Satan to use to afflict a Christian.
Moriel
promotes the falsehood that Satan cannot be given place in a Christian's
life. This false teaching paves the way for a Christian to accept the idea of not abstaining from all appearance of evil because demons, according to Moriel, cannot harm a Christian! The Holy Bible is clear that if place (opportunity) is given to Satan, he will take it.
Moriel's South Africa director, Dave Royle, [who,
in 2006 continues to hold a high position in Moriel Ministries] is providing a soul-subverting example. He is not abstaining from all appearance of evil, but instead, is marking himself with an evil appearance. He is making light of the occult and further desensitizing the Moriel readers to the seriousness of this sin.
