The Apostle Paul warned Christian BELIEVERS to not be deceived
regarding sin and the Christian. He said the unrighteous shall
not inherit the kingdom of God.
"Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God."--1 Cor. 6:9,10
Jesus made it clear that not just the physical act of adultery, but
one's heart attitude is critically important too:
"But I say unto you, That
whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery
with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28
"Looking to lust after" is the whole point of
viewing pornography and those participating in this sin are on
their way to eternal
damnation. (If you are bound in this area you need to be delivered from
the evil spirits you have invited into your life through
this sin. No amount of counseling will expel evil spirits from
your life.)
Paul explained that these kinds of sins are in the past (before one
was saved):
"And such WERE some of you: but ye are washed, but ye
are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and
by the Spirit of our God."--1 Cor. 6:11
Paul wrote, "Be not deceived" before he wrote the
list of behaviors the unrighteous indulge in. Why would he preface
this with "be not deceived"? He did not want the followers of
Jesus who read his letter to think that there are two groups of unrighteous:
the "saved unrighteous" and the "unbelieving
unrighteous."
He went on to carefully explain that the body is for
the Lord, that we are do not belong to ourselves, we were bought with a price, and we must
honor God with our body and in our spirit which BELONG to God.
There is most definitely a "doctrine of
devils" prevalent in the church today
which teaches that one can be both saved and practice
unrighteousness. The popular term for this is carnal Christian.
This is the teaching of the "Position" vs.
"Practice" teaching, which essentially teaches that one's
position in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus is set and sealed forever no matter
how they live their lives in this present world. Cyrus Scofield
popularized this false doctrine in the United States via his Reference
Bible, but since Paul warned against it we know it is not new.
If a Christian's faith in Jesus Christ includes fornication, adultery, homosexual activity, indulging in pornography, etc.
then this "Jesus" is not the Jesus of the Bible. Those who believed on Christ
years ago and have brought forth fruits meet for repentance but now have
given in to the lusts of the flesh will be "cut off" because
they have not continued in God's goodness. (See Rom. 11:22)
The "Walking after the flesh" kind of Christian loves
Scofield's unconditional eternal security doctrine because it makes him feel secure in his sin, but please
understand this is a
doctrine of devils.
Those who have the
righteousness of Christ imputed to them have the ability and the desire to "walk not after
the flesh but after the spirit" which those who are no longer
condemned walk in. Romans 8:1
