In this analysis we will compare the New Living Translation
(NLT) (1997 edition) to the King James Bible (KJ).

Gen. 1:21     KJ:       "And God created great WHALES, ..."

              NLT:      "So God created great sea creatures ..."

              COMMENT:  There is a difference between 'sea creatures'
                        and "WHALES".



Gen. 2:7      KJ:       "... and man became a living SOUL."

              NLT:      "... And the man became a living person."

              Comment:  A MAJOR difference between man and beast is
                        that man is the ONLY creature with a SOUL. 



Gen. 2:13     KJ:       "... land of ETHIOPIA."

              NLT:      "... land of Cush."

              Comment:  I know where Ethiopia is, but where is Cush?
                        Question: Is the NLT's 'Cush' a "simpler and
                        more understandable word" than the King
                        James' "ETHIOPIA"?



Gen. 3:4-5    KJ:       "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye
                        shall not surely die: For God doth know that
                        in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes
                        shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,
                        knowing good and evil."          -------

              NLT:      "'You won't die!' the serpent hissed. 'God
                        knows your eyes will be opened when you eat
                        it. You will become just like God, knowing
                                            -------------
                        everything, both good and evil.'"          

              COMMENT:  This is MAJOR blasphemy! God (with a big G)
                        is not evil!  Think about the difference.



Gen. 6:8      KJ:       "But Noah found GRACE in the eyes of the
                        Lord."

              NLT:      "But Noah found favor with the Lord."

              COMMENT:  God's GRACE was extended in the Old
                        Testament, too.

                        Oh, BTW, an amateur archeologist has found
                        the remains of Noah's ark. I've seen their
                        DVD and I believe it is real.

                        There are people today that are looking for
                        the ark on Mount Ararat. But, check your King
                        James Bible. In Genesis 8:4 it says "the ark
                        rested in the seventh month, on the
                        seventeenth day of the month, upon the
                        MOUNTAINS (PLURAL) of Ararat". The amateur
                        archeologist found the remains of Noah's ark
                        12 miles from Mt. Ararat within the MOUNTAINS
                        of Ararat. The discovered ark is 1 inch off,
                        that's right, 1 inch off, from 300 cubits
                        (Gen. 6:15) in length.



Gen. 22:8     KJ:       "And Abraham said, My son, God will PROVIDE
                        HIMSELF a lamb for a burnt offering: ..."

              NLT:      "'God will provide a lamb, my son,' Abraham
                        answered. ..."

              Comment:  It is true, as the NLT says, that God did
                        provide a lamb for the sacrifice. However,
                        that is only part of the story! The NLT
                        totally misses the DEEPER, and more AMAZING
                        prophetic truth: GOD WAS the sacrifice for
                        man's sins!  The KJ wording is perfect: "God
                        will PROVIDE HIMSELF" <in the form of his
                        only begotten son Jesus Christ) as the
                        lamb for the sacrifice.



Gen. 49:10    KJ:       "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah,
                        ... until SHILOH come; and unto him [shall]
                        the gathering of the people [be]."

              NLT:      "... until the coming of the one to whom it
                        belongs, ..."

              COMMENT:  "Shiloh" here refers to Christ as Peace Maker
                        and the NLT robs him of his Messianic rule.



Deut. 32:22   KJ:       "For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and
                        shall burn unto the lowest HELL, ..."

              NLT:      "For my anger blazes forth like fire and
                        burns to the depths of the grave. ..."

              COMMENT:  HELL IS GONE in this verse in the NLT.



Joshua 12:23  KJ:       "... the king of the NATIONS of Gilgal, ..."

              NLT:      "... the king of Goyim of Gilgal ..."

              COMMENT:  Is the NLT's 'Goyim' a "simpler and more
                        easily understandable word" than the 
                        King James' "NATIONS"?



Judges 7:20   KJ:       "... The sword OF the Lord, and OF Gideon."

              NLT:      "... A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!"

              COMMENT:  Big difference in those two meanings.



2Sam. 16:4    KJ:       "... And Ziba said, I humbly BESEECH thee
                        [that] I may find GRACE in thy sight, my
                        lord, O king."

              NLT:      "... 'Thank you sir,' Ziba replied. 'I will
                        always do whatever you want me to do.'"

              COMMENT:  Does the reader see ANY similarity between
                        those verses?



1Kings 10:28  KJ:       "... and LINEN yarn: the king's merchants
                        received the LINEN yarn at a price."

              NLT:      "Solomon's horses were imported .. the king's
                        traders acquired them ... at the standard
                        price."

              COMMENT   Apparently, the NLT translators do not know
                        the difference between 'horses' and "LINEN".



1Kings 14:24  KJ:       "And there were also SODOMITES in the land:
                        ..."

              NLT:      "There were even shrine prostitutes
                        throughout the land. ..."

              COMMENT:  Sodomites and prostitutes are NOT the same.
                        Sodomy is an ABOMINATION (Lev. 18:22).
                        Notice: The NLT has removed this reference
                        to sodomites. 

                        Oh, BTW, an amateur archeologist has found
                        the remains of Sodom and Gomorrah. I've seen
                        their DVD and I believe it is real.

1Kings 15:12  KJ:       "And he took away the SODOMITES out of the
                        land, ..."

              NLT:      "He banished the shrine prostitutes from the
                        land ..."

              COMMENT:  Again, the NLT changes SODOMITES to
                        PROSTITUTES. Sodomy is GONE, in the NLT, here
                        in 1Kings 15:12, AND in 1Kings 14:24, AND in
                        1Kings 22:46 AND in 2Kings 23:7.



1Kings 20:38  KJ:       " ... with ASHES upon his FACE."

              NLT:      "... a bandage over his eyes ..."

              COMMENT:  In English, "ASHES" and 'bandage' are two
                        different words entirely, so are "FACE" and
                        'eyes'.



Psalm 2:12    KJ:       "Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, ..."

              NLT:      "Submit to God's royal son, or he will become
                        angry, ..."



Psalm 9:17    KJ:       "The wicked shall be turned INTO HELL, ..."

              NLT:      "The wicked will go down to the grave. ..."

              COMMENT:  The NLT has DELETED hell. Is this an attempt
                        to sell more NLTs?



Psalm 12:6-7  KJ:       "The WORDS OF THE LORD [are] pure words: ...
                        THOU SHALT PRESERVE THEM ..."

              NLT:      ".. Lord, we know you will protect the
                        oppressed, ..."

              COMMENT:  This scripture is about GOD PRESERVING HIS
                        WORDS, not protecting people! The NLT blew
                        this one.



Psalm 48:10   KJ:       "... thy right hand is full of
                        RIGHTEOUSNESS."

              NLT:      "... Your strong right hand is filled with
                        victory."

              COMMENT:  There's a lot of difference between
                        "RIGHTEOUSNESS" and 'victory'.



Psalm 72:8    KJ:       "He shall have dominion also FROM SEA TO
                        SEA, ..."

              NLT:      "May he reign from sea to sea, ..."

              COMMENT:  This verse is speaking of Christ as king and
                        he "SHALL" have dominion is watered down to
                        'may' he reign.



Psalm 72:11   KJ:       "Yea, all kings shall FALL DOWN before him:
                        ..."

              NLT:      "All kings will bow before him, ..."

              COMMENT:  All kings FALLING DOWN is watered down to
                        just bowing. In Rev. 1:17 John says of Jesus:
                        "And when I saw him, I FELL at his feet AS
                        DEAD."  John did not bow, he FELL. The NLT
                        robs Jesus of the POWER of his presence.



Psalm 109:6   KJ:       "Set thou a wicked man over him: and let
                        SATAN stand at his right hand."

              NLT:      "Arrange for an evil person to turn on him.
                        Send an accuser to bring him to trial."

              COMMENT:  In this verse, in the NLT, Satan has been
                        removed. Also, is bringing him to trial the
                        same as STANDING AT HIS RIGHT HAND?



Prov. 23:14   KJ:       "Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt
                        DELIVER HIS SOUL FROM HELL."

              NLT:      "Physical discipline may well save them
                        (children) from death."

              COMMENT:  What is the NLT talking about?  If you
                        discipline children they will STILL DIE! All
                        people eventually die! Hello?  Only the
                        King James has it right: Beat him with
                        the rod, and you shall DELIVER HIS SOUL
                        FROM HELL.



Eccl. 5:20    KJ:       "... God ANSWERETH [HIM] in the joy of his
                        heart."

              NLT:      "... God has given them reasons for joy."

              COMMENT:  The NLT translators blew this one.



Isaiah 11:3   KJ:       "And shall make him of quick understanding
                        ..."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  The verse is speaking of Jesus and it says
                        that he will be "of quick understanding". The
                        NLT omits this.



Isaiah 14:12  KJ:       "How art thou fallen from heaven, O LUCIFER,
                        son of the morning! ..."

              NLT:      "How you are fallen from heaven, O shining
                        star, son of the morning! ..."

              COMMENT:  WHO is fallen from heaven? The NLT doesn't
                        say. The King James says who: It's LUCIFER.
                        Lucifer is GONE in this verse in the NLT.



Isaiah 32:2   KJ:       "And A MAN shall be as an hiding place from
                        the wind, ..."

              NLT:      "He will shelter Israel from the storm and
                        the wind."

              COMMENT:  The "MAN" here can be no one but Christ.



Isaiah 66:5   KJ:       "... he shall appear to your joy, ..."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  The verse is about the Lord Jesus' appearing.
                        The NLT omits this scripture.



Jer. 31:22    KJ:       "... the Lord hath created a new thing in the
                        earth, A WOMAN SHALL COMPASS A MAN."

              NLT:      "... For the Lord will cause something new
                        and different to happen- Israel will embrace
                        her God."

              COMMENT:  The early church fathers are almost unanimous
                        in interpreting this to refer to the virgin
                        Mary COMPASSING Christ IN HER WOMB.  Nothing
                        like this before, that a child should be
                        conceived without an earthly father. The NLT
                        misses the point entirely.



Daniel 3:25   KJ:       "... and the form of the fourth is like THE
                        SON OF GOD."

              NLT:      "... And the fourth looks like a divine
                        being."

              COMMENT:  '... a divine being'? Who, or what, is that?
                        Let's give CREDIT where CREDIT is due: It was
                        Jesus Christ, THE SON OF GOD, who was in the
                        fiery furnace with Shadrach, Messach, and
                        Abednego. It was Jesus Christ who delivered
                        them. And it is Jesus Christ who saves us
                        from the fiery furnace (i.e. from hell).



Daniel 7:10   KJ:       "... THE JUDGMENT WAS SET, and the books
                        were opened."

              NLT:      "... Then the court began its session, and
                        the books were opened."

              COMMENT:  The JUDGMENT OF GOD has been removed.



Hosea 11:12   KJ:       "... but Judah YET RULETH WITH GOD, AND IS 
                        FAITHFUL WITH THE SAINTS."

              NLT:      "... but Judah still WALKS WITH GOD, and is
                        faithful to the Holy One."

              COMMENT:  Walking with God is fine, but it is not the
                        same as RULING WITH GOD.



Hosea 13:9    KJ:       "O Israel, THOU HAST DESTROYED THYSELF; but
                        in me [is] thine help."

              NLT:      "You are about to be destroyed, O Israel,
                        though I am your helper."



Micah 5:2     KJ:       "... Bethlehem ... out of thee shall he come
                        forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in
                        Israel; whose GOINGS FORTH [have been] from
                        of old, from everlasting."

              NLT:      "... whose ORIGINS are from the distant
                        past."

              COMMENT:  This refers to the Lord Jesus and the NLT
                        makes him a CREATED BEING having an origin. 
                        How can a child of God stand before an
                        audience and read from such a book?



Zech. 9:9     KJ:       "... behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he
                        [is] just, and having SALVATION; ..."

              NLT:      "... Look, your king is coming to you. He is
                        righteous and victorious, ..."

              COMMENT:  Reference to Christ's SALVATION is REMOVED.



Zech. 11:17   KJ:       "Woe to the IDOL shepherd that leaveth the
                        flock! ..."

              NLT:      "Doom is certain for this worthless shepherd
                        who abandons the flock! ..."

              COMMENT:  "IDOL" and 'worthless' are different. The
                        scholars missed this one. 



Matt. 1:25    KJ:       "And knew her not till she had brought forth
                        her FIRSTBORN son: ..."

              NLT:      "but she remained a virgin until her son was
                        born. ..."

              COMMENT:  Jesus was her FIRSTBORN son.



Matt. 2:4     KJ:       "... he (King Herod) DEMANDED of them where
                        Christ should be born."

              NLT:      "... 'Where did the prophets say the Messiah
                        would be born?' he [Herod] asked them."

              COMMENT:  King Herod, furious over the arrival of
                        Jesus, (and wanting to DO AWAY with him) did
                        not 'ask' where Christ would be born, he
                        DEMANDED to know!



Matt. 5:22    KJ:       "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry
                        with his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE shall be in
                        danger of the judgment: ..."

              NLT:      "But I say, if you are angry with someone,
                        you are subject to judgment! ..."

              COMMENT:  What?  The NLT says you can't be angry with
                        someone?!!!  Brothers and sisters: The
                        Apostle Paul was angry and withstood the
                        Apostle Peter to his face (Gal. 2:11).  Jesus
                        was angry with the Church at Pergamos because
                        of the erroneous doctrine of the Nicolaitanes
                        (Rev 2:15). The Bible says to BE ANGRY but
                        sin not (Eph. 4:26), and it says not to let
                        the sun go down on YOUR ANGER (Eph. 4:26). 
                        The KJ is CORRECT: Whosoever is angry with
                        his brother WITHOUT A CAUSE is in danger of
                        the judgment. There is a HUGE difference
                        between those two verses.



Matt. 5:44    KJ:       "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, BLESS
                        THEM THAT CURSE YOU, DO GOOD TO THEM THAT
                        HATE YOU, and pray for them which
                        DESPITEFULLY USE YOU, and persecute you;"

              NLT:      "But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those
                        who persecute you!"

              COMMENT:  The NLT leaves out everything in capital
                        letters.



Matt. 6:13    KJ:       "... For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
                        and the glory, for ever. Amen."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits all this.



Matt. 6:27    KJ:       "Which of you ... can ADD ONE CUBIT unto
                        his STATURE?"

              NLT:      "Can all your worries add a single moment
                        to your life? ..."

              COMMENT:  This verse is about HEIGHT (i.e. CUBITS)
                        not time!



Matt. 7:14    KJ:       "Because STRAIT [is] the gate, and narrow
                        [is] the way, ..."

              NLT:      "But the gateway to life is small, and the
                        road is narrow, ..."

              COMMENT:  No, STRAIT is the gate.



Matt. 8:19    KJ:       "And a certain scribe came, and said unto
                        him, MASTER, I will follow thee ..."

              NLT:      "Then one ... said to him, 'Teacher, I will
                        follow you ...'"

              COMMENT:  Jesus AS MASTER is watered down to just
                        'teacher'.



Matt. 9:13    KJ:       "... for I am not come to call the righteous,
                        but sinners TO REPENTANCE."

              NLT:      "... For I have come to call sinners, not
                        those that think they are already good
                        enough."

              COMMENT:  '... come to call sinners ...' to what? Those
                        last two words in the KJ ARE CRUCIAL. HELL
                        will get all of the sinners who DON'T repent.
                        JESUS will get all sinners who DO repent!



Matt. 11:23   KJ:       "And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto
                        heaven, shalt be brought down to HELL: ..."

              NLT:      "And you people of Capernaum ... will be
                        brought down to the place of the dead."

              COMMENT:  Hell is GONE in this verse in the NLT.



Matt. 12:40   KJ:       "For as Jonas was three days and three nights
                        in the WHALE'S belly; ..."

              NLT:      "For as Jonah was in the belly of the great
                        fish for three days and three nights, ..."

              COMMENT:  The Lord Jesus Christ knew the difference
                        between a "WHALE" and a 'fish'.



Matt. 16:3    KJ:       "... O [YE] HYPOCRITES, ye can discern the
                        face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the
                        signs of the times?"

              NLT:      "... You are good at reading the weather
                        signs in the sky, but you can't read the
                        obvious signs of the times!"



Matt. 17:21   KJ:       "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by
                        PRAYER and FASTING."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  To cast out certain devils requires PRAYER
                        and FASTING. The NLT ignores this scripture.



Matt. 18:11   KJ:       "For the Son of man is come to save that
                        which was lost."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              Comment:  Jesus' ENTIRE PURPOSE for coming to earth,
                        is OMITTED in the NLT!



Matt. 19:9    KJ:       "And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put
                        away his wife, except [it be] for
                        fornication, and shall marry another,
                        committeth adultery: AND WHOSO MARRIETH HER
                        WHICH IS PUT AWAY DOTH COMMIT ADULTERY."

              NLT:      "And I tell you this, a man who divorces his
                        wife and marries another commits adultery--
                        unless his wife has been unfaithful."

              COMMENT:  An IMPORTANT verse about marriage, yet the
                        NLT deletes about one third of it.



Matt. 19:17   KJ:       "... WHY CALLEST THOU ME GOOD? ..."

              NLT:      "Why ask me about what is good? ..."



Matt. 20:7    KJ:       "... Because no man hath hired us. He saith
                        unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; AND
                        WHATSOEVER IS RIGHT, [THAT] SHALL YE
                        RECEIVE."

              NLT:      "... Because no one hired us. The owner of
                        the estate told them, 'Then go on out and
                        join the others in my vineyard.'"

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits about 1/2 the verse! And
                        this omission makes it HARDER to understand
                        the explanation, which follows later, in
                        Matt. 20:13.



Matt. 20:16   KJ:       "So the last shall be first, and the first
                        last: FOR MANY BE CALLED, BUT FEW CHOSEN."

              NLT:      "... that many who are first now will be
                        last then; and those who are last now will
                        be first then."

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits: "FOR MANY BE CALLED, BUT FEW
                        CHOSEN."



Matt. 20:20   KJ:       "Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's
                        children with her sons, WORSHIPPING [him],
                        ..."

              NLT:      "Then the mother of ... the sons of Zebedee,
                        came to Jesus ... She knelt respectively ..."

              COMMENT:  Kneeling down respectfully is not even close
                        to TRUE WORSHIP.



Matt. 23:8    KJ:       "But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your
                        MASTER, [even] Christ; ..."

              NLT:      "Don't ever let anyone call you 'Rabbi', for
                        you have only one teacher, ..."

              COMMENT:  Jesus AS MASTER is watered down to just
                        'teacher', and then, the NLT doesn't even
                        give the name of the 'teacher'.



Matt. 23:14   KJ:       "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
                        hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses,
                        and for a PRETENCE make long prayer:
                        therefore ye shall receive the greater
                        DAMNATION."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  Jesus condemns hypocrisy, yet this warning
                        is not in the NLT.



Matt. 23:33   KJ:       "[Ye] serpents, [ye] generation of vipers,
                        how can ye escape the DAMNATION of hell?"

              NLT:      "Snakes! Sons of vipers! How will you escape
                        the judgment of hell?"

              COMMENT:  Hell is more than just 'judgment'; it is
                        DAMNATION. Dear reader: Be sure that you, and
                        those around you, are SAVED.



Matt. 27:4    KJ:       "... I have sinned in that I have betrayed
                        THE INNOCENT BLOOD. ..."

              NLT:      "'I have sinned,' he declared, 'for I have
                        betrayed an innocent man.'"

              COMMENT:  There are many men who are innocent of
                        certain crimes. But, ONLY JESUS CHRIST was
                        "THE" INNOCENT BLOOD.  Think about it.



Matt. 27:35   KJ:       "And they crucified him, and parted his
                        garments, casting lots: THAT IT MIGHT BE
                        FULFILLED WHICH WAS SPOKEN BY THE PROPHET,
                        THEY PARTED MY GARMENTS AMONG THEM, AND UPON
                        MY VESTURE DID THEY CAST LOTS."

              NLT:      "After they had nailed him to the cross, the
                        soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing
                        dice."

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits the scripture documenting
                        this FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY.



Mark 1:15     KJ:       "... the kingdom of God is at hand: repent 
                        ye, and believe the GOSPEL."

              NLT:      "... The KINGDOM of God is near! Turn from
                        your sins and believe this Good News!"

              COMMENT:  'Good news' can be anything, but Jesus said
                        to SPECIFICALLY believe the "GOSPEL".



Mark 3:5      KJ:       "... his hand was restored WHOLE AS THE
                        OTHER."

              NLT:      "... it became normal again!"



Mark 3:29     KJ:       "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy
                        Ghost ... is in danger of eternal DAMNATION:"

              NLT:      "but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy
                        Spirit ... It is an eternal sin."

              COMMENT:  This verse is an IMPORTANT WARNING but the
                        NLT waters it down.


Mark 6:11     KJ:       "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor
                        hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off
                        the dust under your feet for a testimony
                        against them. VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, IT SHALL
                        BE MORE TOLERABLE FOR SODOM AND GOMORRHA IN
                        THE DAY OF JUDGMENT, THAN FOR THAT CITY."

              NLT:      "And if a village won't welcome you or listen
                        to you, shake off its dust from your feet as
                        you leave. It is a sign that you have
                        abandoned that village to its fate."

              COMMENT:  An important warning from Jesus, but the NLT
                        leaves out about HALF of it.



Mark 7:16     KJ:       "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  Numbering verses 14, 15, and then 17 is NOT
                        new math. The NLT leaves out JESUS' COMMAND
                        TO HEAR HIM.



Mark 9:24     KJ:       "... Lord, I believe; help thou mine
                        unbelief."

              NLT:      "... I do believe, but help me not to doubt!"



Mark 9:44,46  KJ:       "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is
                        not quenched."

              NLT:      This verse, in both Mark 9:44 and Mark 9:46,
                        is omitted.



Mark 9:47     KJ:       "... than having two eyes to be cast into
                        hell FIRE:"

              NLT:      "... than to have two eyes and be thrown
                        into hell,"

              COMMENT:  The NLT waters down the SEVERITY OF HELL.



Mark 10:21    KJ:       "... and come, TAKE UP THE CROSS, and follow
                        me."

              NLT:      "... Then come, follow me."

              COMMENT:  The Christian TAKES UP THE CROSS (and dies
                        to their will) daily. The NLT has deleted
                        this.



Mark 10:24    KJ:       "... Children, how hard is it FOR THEM THAT
                        TRUST IN RICHES to enter into the kingdom of
                        God!"

              NLT:      "... Dear children it is very hard to get
                        into the kingdom of God."

              COMMENT:  The problem, as correctly stated in the
                        King James Bible is: TRUSTING IN RICHES.



Mark 11:10    KJ:       "Blessed [be] the kingdom of our father
                        David, THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD:
                        HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST."

              NLT:      "Bless the coming kingdom of our ancestor
                        David! ..."

              COMMENT:  Note: The NLT is biased against Fathers in
                        this verse (and in others). So, what you see
                        is the use of the word 'ancestor' instead of
                        "Father". But, the KJ Bible is clear. God's
                        hierarchy includes the Father. (Also, God
                        holds men responsible).



Mark 11:26    KJ:       "But if ye do not forgive, neither will your
                        Father which is in heaven forgive your
                        trespasses."

              NLT:      Omitted.

                        Of Mark" (as if it were optional).

              COMMENT:  In John Burgeon's book, "The Last Twelve
                        Verses of the Gospel of Mark", he has written
                        over 400 pages proving conclusively that this
                        section was in the original manuscripts. 
                        Burgeon's book remains unanswered and is
                        unanswerable.



Mark 16:15    KJ:       "... Go ye into all the world, and preach THE

              NLT:      "... Go into all the world and preach the
                        Good News ..."

              COMMENT:  There are a lot of events in the news that
                        are 'good news', but Jesus said to preach
                        THE GOSPEL.

              COMMENT:  WHAT? The NLT MAKES JESUS A SINNER (by
                        requiring purification FOR HIM). The King
                        James is correct: The purification was FOR
                        MARY.

                        Jerusalem; and JOSEPH AND HIS MOTHER knew
                        not [of it]."

              NLT:      "... but Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem.
                        HIS PARENTS didn't miss him at first,"

              COMMENT:  'HIS PARENTS'? The NLT makes JOSEPH the
                        FATHER of the Lord Jesus Christ. Joseph was
                        NOT Jesus' father, GOD WAS.



Luke 2:49     KJ:       "... I must be about my Father's BUSINESS
                        ..."

              NLT:      "... You should have known that I would be
                        in my Father's house."

              COMMENT:  Jesus was DOING the Father's BUSINESS, not
                        just 'abiding' in the house. Clearly, a
                        watered down verse.



Luke 4:4      KJ:       "... man shall not live by bread alone, BUT
                        BY EVERY WORD OF GOD."

              NLT:      "... People need more than bread for their
                        life."

              COMMENT:  Other than bread, what else does man need?
                        The NLT doesn't say. Only the King James
                        Bible tells us: We need EVERY WORD OF GOD!



Luke 4:8      KJ:       "And Jesus answered and said unto him, GET
                        THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN: for it is written,
                        Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him
                        only shalt thou serve."

              NLT:      "Jesus replied, 'The Scriptures say, You
                        must worship the Lord your God; serve only
                        him.'"

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits "Get thee behind me, Satan."



Luke 4:18     KJ:       "The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because
                        he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to
                        the poor; HE HATH SENT ME TO HEAL THE 
                        BROKENHEARTED, to preach deliverance to the
                        captives, and recovering of sight to the
                        blind, to set at liberty them that are
                        bruised,"

              NLT:      "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he
                        has appointed me to preach Good News to the
                        poor, he has sent me to proclaim that
                        captives will be released, that the blind
                        will see, that the downtrodden will be freed
                        from their oppressors, and that the time of
                        the Lord's favor has come."


              COMMENT:  The NLT omits entirely, "he hath sent me to
                        heal the brokenhearted." Also, we are
                        ANOINTED to preach not just 'appointed': A
                        BIG DIFFERENCE. And, we are the preach THE
                        GOSPEL not just any generic 'good news'.



Luke 9:55-56  KJ:       "But he turned, and rebuked them, AND SAID,
                        YE KNOW NOT WHAT MANNER OF SPIRIT YE ARE OF.
                        FOR THE SON OF MAN IS NOT COME TO DESTROY
                        MEN'S LIVES, BUT TO SAVE [THEM]. And they
                        went to another village."

              NLT:      "But Jesus turned and rebuked them. So they
                        went on to another village." 

              COMMENT:  The NLT omits MOST of Mark 9:55-56. Again,
                        this is an attempt to cast doubt on the
                        veracity, and authenticity, of this passage.



Luke 11:2     KJ:       "And he said unto them, When ye pray, say,
                        OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN, Hallowed be
                        thy name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE,
                        AS IN HEAVEN, SO IN EARTH."

                        Father, may your name be honored. May your
                        kingdom come soon.'" 



Luke 11:4     KJ:       "... And lead us not into temptation; but

                        with the blood I will pour out for you."

              COMMENT:  Is the cup a 'token' or is it like the KJ
                        says, THE NEW TESTAMENT? Also, WHOSE BLOOD
                        will Jesus pour out? Note: The NLT is VAGUE.
                        Only the KJ is clear: It is JESUS' blood. 



Luke 23:17    KJ:       "(For of necessity he must release one unto
                        them at the feast.)"

              NLT:      Omitted. 



Luke 23:23    KJ:       "... And the voices of them AND OF THE CHIEF
                        PRIESTS prevailed."

              NLT:      "... and their voices prevailed."



Luke 23:42    KJ:       "And he said unto Jesus, LORD, remember me
                        when thou comest into thy kingdom."

              NLT:      "Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when you
                        come in your Kingdom.'"

              COMMENT:  There is no explanation for leaving out
                        "LORD".  The thief GOT SAVED, so of course
                        he addressed Jesus as LORD!



Luke 23:45    KJ:       "And the sun was DARKENED, ..."

              NLT:      "The light from the sun was gone. ..."

              COMMENT:  How was the light gone?  Only the KJ lets
                        us know: It was supernaturally DARKENED.



Luke 24:46    KJ:       "... and thus it BEHOVED Christ to suffer, 
                        ..."

              NLT:      "... the Messiah must suffer ..."

              COMMENT:  The NLT misses a HUGE POINT: It BEHOVED
                        Christ to suffer. He did it WILLINGLY."



John 1:10     KJ:       "He was in the world, and the world was made
                        BY him, ..."

              NLT:      "But although the world was made through him,
                        ..."

              COMMENT:  "BY" and 'through' are not the same.



John 1:14     KJ:       "... (and we beheld his glory, the glory as
                        of THE ONLY BEGOTTEN of the Father,) ..."

              NLT:      "... And we have seen his glory, the glory
                        of the only Son of the Father."

              COMMENT:  God has MORE THAN ONE SON! Every male that
                        is saved is a SON of God. The King James is
                        right: Jesus was the ONLY BEGOTTEN of the
                        Father. 



John 1:42     KJ:       "And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus
                        beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son
                        of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, WHICH
                        IS BY INTERPRETATION, A STONE."

              NLT:      "Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus.
                        Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, 'You
                        are Simon, the son of John--but you will be
                        called Cephas (which means Peter).'" 

              COMMENT:  The NLT says: 'you will be called Cephas',
                        but then omits WHICH IS BY INTERPRETATION,
                        A STONE. This omission is DISASTROUS. Jesus
                        calls Peter "A STONE" to differentiate Peter
                        from Jesus who is THE ROCK (1Co. 10:4). Thus,
                        when Jesus says: upon THIS ROCK (not stone)
                        I will build my Church (Matt. 16:18) Jesus
                        is NOT referring to Peter. And that is one
                        of many errors in Catholic doctrine.



John 3:13     KJ:       "And NO MAN hath ascended up to heaven, but
                        he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son
                        of man which is in heaven."

              NLT:      "For ONLY I, the Son of Man, have come to
                        earth and will return to heaven again."

              COMMENT:  Not true NLT. Remember the angels on Jacob's
                        ladder? They ascended and descended. The KJ
                        has the correct reading and that is: NO MAN
                        hath ascended up to heaven ... ALSO, Satan
                        went into heaven and made accusations against
                        Job (Job 1:6). Remember?



John 3:15     KJ:       "That whosoever believeth in him SHOULD NOT
                        PERISH, but have eternal life."

              NLT:      "so that everyone who believes in me will
                        have eternal life."

              COMMENT:  Not perishing is important, don't you think?



John 3:16     KJ:       "For God so loved the world, that he gave
                        his only BEGOTTEN Son, ..."

              NLT:      "For God so loved the world that he gave
                        his only Son, ..."

              COMMENT:  Believers in God are called his SONS and
                        daughters. God did NOT give his only son. He
                        has MANY. God gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN Son.



John 4:24     KJ:       "God [is] A Spirit: ..."

              NLT:      "For God is Spirit, ..."


              COMMENT:  For the NLT to say: 'God is spirit' is to
                        infer that ALL spirits are of God. Not true.
                        We know there are evil spirits, but in God
                        there is NO evil. So the King James is
                        correct: God is "A" spirit.



John 5:4      KJ:       "For an angel went down at a certain season
                        into the pool, and troubled the water:
                        whosoever then first after the troubling of
                        the water stepped in was made whole of
                        whatsoever disease he had."

              NLT:      Omitted. 

              COMMENT:  This injects another doubt as to the
                        authority and accuracy of God's word. Also,
                        the NLT OMITS a capability (apparently) of
                        an holy angel of God.



John 5:16     KJ:       "And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus,
                        AND SOUGHT TO SLAY HIM, because he had done
                        these things on the sabbath day."

              NLT:      "So the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus
                        for breaking the Sabbath rules."

              COMMENT:  There is a big difference between 'harassing'
                        and PERSECUTING. Also, the NLT, without any
                        basis, omits the fact that the Jews wanted
                        to MURDER Jesus.



John 5:29     KJ:       "... and they that have done evil, unto the
                        resurrection of DAMNATION."

              NLT:      "... and those who have continued in evil
                        will rise to judgment."

              COMMENT:  The NLT waters down "DAMNATION" to just
                        'judgment'.



John 6:33     KJ:       "For the bread of God is HE which cometh
                        down from heaven, and giveth life unto the
                        world."

              NLT:      "The true bread of God is the one who comes
                        down out of heaven and gives life to the
                        world."



John 6:69     KJ:       "And we believe and ARE SURE that thou art
                        that CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD."

              NLT:      "We believe them, and we know you are the
                        Holy One of God."

              COMMENT:  What happened to CHRIST?  And, what happened
                        to him being the Son of the LIVING GOD?



John 8:9      KJ:       "And they which heard [it], BEING CONVICTED
                        BY [THEIR OWN] CONSCIENCE, went out one by
                        one, ..."

              NLT:      "When the accusers heard this, they slipped
                        away one by one, ..."

              COMMENT:  No reason is given for omitting this text.



John 8:36     KJ:       "If the Son therefore shall MAKE you free,
                        ye shall be free indeed."

              NLT:      "So if the Son sets you free, you will indeed
                        be free."

              COMMENT:  Jesus did not (passively) 'set' us free;
                        NO, he (actively) "MADE" us free. We had to
                        be BORN AGAIN. To fix us Jesus had to START
                        OVER FROM SCRATCH! The NLT waters down the
                        EFFORT behind the WORK Jesus did for us.



John 8:59     KJ:       "Then took they up stones to cast at him:
                        but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the
                        temple, GOING THROUGH THE MIDST OF THEM, AND
                        SO PASSED BY."

              NLT:      "At that point they picked up stones to kill
                        him. But Jesus hid himself from them and
                        left the Temple."

              COMMENT:  Quite a different thought.



John 9:4      KJ:       "I must work the works of him that sent me,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "All of us must quickly carry out the tasks
                        assigned us ..."



John 9:35     KJ:       "... Dost thou believe on the SON OF GOD?"

              NLT:      "... Do you believe in the Son of Man?"



John 10:30    KJ:       "I and [MY] Father are one."

              NLT:      "The Father and I are one."

              COMMENT:  Notice: The KJ's "MY Father" is gone and is
                        replaced by 'the' Father. Thus, the NLT
                        deletes the PERSONAL relationship of "MY
                        FATHER", between Jesus and the heavenly
                        Father.



John 11:41    KJ:       "Then they took away the stone [FROM THE
                        PLACE] WHERE THE DEAD WAS LAID. ..."

              NLT:      "So they rolled the stone aside. ..."

              COMMENT:  It's NOT a miracle if Lazarus isn't DEAD.



John 14:2     KJ:       "In my Father's house are MANY MANSIONS: ..."

              NLT:      "There are many rooms in my Father's home,
                        ..."

              COMMENT:  If Jesus thinks your work for him was WORTHY,
                        wouldn't you want a "MANSION" instead of just
                        a 'room'?  The NLT waters down one of the
                        POSSIBLE REWARDS from God.



John 14:16    KJ:       "And I will pray the Father, and he shall
                        give you another COMFORTER, ..."

              NLT:      "And I will ask the Father, and he will give
                        you another Counselor, ..." 



John 14:26    KJ:       "But the COMFORTER, [which is] the Holy
                        Ghost, ..."

              NLT:      "But when the Father sends the Counselor ..."

              COMMENT:  The evidence about Jesus is INFALLIBLE.

                        that of the fruit of his loins, ACCORDING TO
                        THE FLESH, HE WOULD RAISE UP CHRIST to sit
                        on his throne;" 

              NLT:      "... one of David's own descendants would sit
                        on David's throne ..."

              COMMENT:  The NLT totally misses the point. It wasn't
                        just a 'descendant' (which could be anybody)
                        that would sit on the throne; it was GOD
                        ALMIGHTY (Jesus Christ)!



Acts 2:47     KJ:       "... And the Lord ADDED TO THE CHURCH daily
                        such as SHOULD BE saved."

              NLT:      "... the Lord added to their group those who
                        were BEING SAVED."

              COMMENT:  The people that were added were added to THE
                        CHURCH (not to a generic 'group'). Also,
                        salvation is an IMMEDIATE event. It is NOT
                        A PROCESS. People are either saved or they
                        are not. They are NOT 'being' saved.



Acts 3:13     KJ:       "The God of Abraham, ... hath glorified HIS
                        SON Jesus; ..."

              NLT:      "... the God of Abraham, ... has brought
                        glory to his servant Jesus ..."

              COMMENT:  Jesus, as GOD'S SON, has been watered down
                        to just a 'servant'.



Acts 3:26     KJ:       "... God, having raised up HIS SON Jesus,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "When God raised up his servant, ..."

              COMMENT:  Again, the NLT waters down Jesus as GOD'S
                        SON, to just 'servant', and then, doesn't
                        even name the servant!


Acts 4:13     KJ:       "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and
                        John, and perceived that they were unlearned
                        and IGNORANT men, ..."

              NLT:      "The members of the council were amazed when
                        they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for
                        they could see they were ordinary men who had
                        no special training. ..."

              COMMENT:  'No special training? WHAT? Peter and John
                        had been WITH JESUS (for some time). They
                        were trained BY GOD ALMIGHTY: THE BEST
                        TRAINER in the UNIVERSE! They were however,
                        as the King James states: ignorant.



Acts 4:25     KJ:       "... Why did the HEATHEN rage, and the people
                        imagine vain things?"

              NLT:      "... Why did the nations rage? ..."

              COMMENT:  It wasn't 'nations' that raged. It was the
                        HEATHEN.



Acts 4:27     KJ:       "... thy HOLY CHILD Jesus, whom thou hast
                        anointed, ..."

              NLT:      "... Jesus, your holy servant, whom you
                        anointed."

              COMMENT:  Again, the NLT waters down Jesus. This time
                        GOD'S HOLY CHILD is watered down to just
                        a 'holy servant'.



Acts 4:30     KJ:       "... thy HOLY CHILD Jesus."

              NLT:      "... your holy servant Jesus."

              COMMENT:  One more time: The NLT waters down Jesus.
                        GOD'S HOLY CHILD is, again, watered down
                        to just a 'holy servant'.



Acts 8:37     KJ:       "And Philip said, IF THOU BELIEVEST WITH ALL
                        THINE HEART, THOU MAYEST.  And he answered
                        and said, I BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE
                        SON OF GOD."

              NLT:      Acts 8:37 is OMITTED with no note explaining
                        why. 

              COMMENT:  This verse shows THE requirement for water
                        baptism, namely: BELIEVING that Jesus Christ
                        is the Son of God. But, both Codex Aleph and
                        B leave this verse out; and they are TWO OF
                        THE WORST manuscripts. This is a good example
                        of the spiritual BATTLE that has, and still
                        surrounds, the word of God.



Acts 9:5-6    KJ:       "And he said, Who art thou, Lord?  And the
                        Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
                        [IT IS] HARD FOR THEE TO KICK AGAINST THE
                        PRICKS.  AND HE TREMBLING AND ASTONISHED
                        SAID, LORD, WHAT WILT THOU HAVE ME TO DO? 
                        And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go
                        into the city, and it shall be told thee
                        what thou must do."

              NLT:      "Who are you, sir? Saul asked. And the voice
                        replied, 'I am Jesus, the one you are
                        persecuting!  Now get up and go into the
                        city, and you will be told what you are to
                        do.'"

              COMMENT:  It was THE LORD THAT SPOKE, not just a 'voice
                        replying'!  A voice could be ANYBODY. It
                        could even be the devil...  Plus, the
                        translators have emasculated these two verses
                        and give no reason at all for their omission. 
                        Thus, doubt is injected into the mind of
                        anyone who believes the Bible is the verbally
                        inspired word of God.



Acts 9:20     KJ:       "And straightway he preached CHRIST ..."

              NLT:      "And immediately he began preaching about
                        Jesus ..."

              COMMENT:  CHRIST is missing.



Acts 10:37    KJ:       "THAT WORD, [I say], ye know, which was
                        PUBLISHED THROUGHOUT ALL JUDAEA, and began
                        from Galilee, after the baptism which John
                        preached;"

              NLT:      "You know what happened all through Judea,
                        beginning in Galilee, after John the Baptist
                        began preaching."

              COMMENT:  Notice how VAGUE the NLT is. It says: 'you
                        know what happened ...' but then DOESN'T SAY
                        WHAT HAPPENED!  The King James Bible tells
                        us: THE WORD WAS PUBLISHED THROUGHOUT ALL
                        JUDEA.



Acts 12:4     KJ:       "... after EASTER ..."

              NLT:      "... after the Passover."

              COMMENT:  Herod was a HEATHEN King. He did NOT regard
                        Passover! He would have regarded Easter,
                        though. Note: Passover is BIBLICAL, but do
                        a thorough study on Easter and you will find
                        out that it is PAGAN.



Acts 15:11    KJ:       "But we believe that through the GRACE of
                        the Lord Jesus CHRIST we shall be saved,
                        even as they."

              NLT:      "We believe that we are all saved the same
                        way, by the special favor of the Lord Jesus."

              COMMENT:  Are "GRACE" and 'favor' the same? Answer:
                        No, they aren't! Also, what happened to
                        "CHRIST"?



Acts 15:18    KJ:       "Known unto God are all his works FROM THE
                        BEGINNING OF THE WORLD."

              NLT:      "he who made these things known long ago."

              COMMENT:  Those two verses are NOT the same. 



Acts 15:34    KJ:       "Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide
                        there still."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  Numbering verses 32, 33, and then 35 ...
                        is NOT new math.



Acts 16:31    KJ:       "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus
                        CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy
                        house."

              NLT:      "They replied, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus and
                        you will be saved, along with your entire 
                        household.'"

              COMMENT:  Again, they omit "Christ".



Acts 17:22    KJ:       "Then Paul stood in the midst of MARS' HILL,
                        and said, [Ye] men of Athens, I perceive that
                        in all things ye are TOO SUPERSTITIOUS."

              NLT:      "So Paul, standing before the Council,
                        addressed them as follows: 'Men of Athens,
                        I notice that you are very religious,'"

              Comment:  Being 'very religious' and "TOO
                        SUPERSTITIOUS" are entirely different!



Acts 20:23-24 KJ:       "... the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every
                        city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide
                        me. BUT NONE OF THESE THINGS MOVE ME, neither
                        count I my life dear unto myself, so that I
                        might finish my course with joy, ..."

              NLT:      The following is omitted, "But none of these
                        things move me," and no reason is given for
                        the omission.

              COMMENT:  Note: The Apostle Paul was NOT MOVED by his
                        circumstances. So, he could preach the Gospel
                        with BOLDNESS!  May we have his same attitude
                        and may we ALSO preach with BOLDNESS! Thanks
                        to the King James Bible for insight into

              COMMENT:  What happened to the blessing of VIRGINITY?
                        'New versions' like the NLT do not like the
                        topic of virginity.  Also, being a VIRGIN
                        and being 'un-married' are VERY different.



Acts 23:9     KJ:       "... let us not fight against God."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  Some GOOD advice, don't you think?



Acts 24:6-7   KJ:       "Who also hath gone about to profane the
                        temple: whom we took, and would have judged
                        according to our law. But the chief captain
                        Lysias came [upon us], and with great
                        violence took [him] away out of our hands,"

              NLT:      "Moreover he was trying to defile the temple
                        when we arrested him."  (Then all of verse
                        7 is missing.) 



Acts 24:14    KJ:       "But this I confess unto thee, that after
                        the way which they call HERESY, so worship
                        I the God of my fathers, ..."

              NLT:      "But I admit that I follow the Way, which
                        they call a sect. ..."

              COMMENT:  The unbelievers who came against the Apostle
                        Paul did NOT think Christianity was a 'sect'.
                        No, they thought it was "HERESY".



Acts 24:15    KJ:       "... that there shall be a resurrection OF
                        THE DEAD, both of the just and unjust."

              NLT:      "... that he will raise both the righteous
                        and the ungodly."



Acts 28:29    KJ:       "And when he had said these words, the Jews
                        departed, and had great reasoning among
                        themselves."

              NLT:      Acts 28:29 is omitted. 

              COMMENT:  The VAST MAJORITY of manuscripts have this
                        verse!  This is still another doubt cast
                        upon the word of God.



Romans 1:16   KJ:       "For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of
                        Christ: ..."

              NLT:      "For I am not ashamed of this Good News about
                        Christ. ..."

              COMMENT:  The translators seem to dislike the word
                        "GOSPEL", too.  Good news can be anything.
                        But, the GOSPEL is VERY SPECIFIC.



Romans 1:18   KJ:       "... men, who HOLD THE TRUTH in
                        unrighteousness;"

              NLT:      "... people who push the truth away from
                        themselves."



Romans 1:25   KJ:       "Who CHANGED the truth of God INTO a lie,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "... they deliberately chose to believe lies.
                        ..."

              COMMENT:  Those 2 verses are NOT the same.



Romans 6:3    KJ:       "Know ye not, that so many of us as were
                        baptized into Jesus Christ WERE BAPTIZED INTO
                        HIS DEATH?"

              NLT:      "Or have you forgotten that when we became
                        Christians and were baptized to become one
                        with Jesus Christ, we died with him?" 

              COMMENT:  NO ONE died WITH Jesus. Jesus paid our sin
                        debt ALONE. Also, baptism does not make us
                        'one' with Christ. Baptism is an act of
                        obedience to him.



Romans 6:18   KJ:       "Being then made free from sin, ye
                        became the SERVANTS of righteousness."

              NLT:      "Now you are free from sin, ... and you
                        have become slaves to ... righteousness."

              COMMENT:  Are we 'slaves' or "SERVANTS"? Answer:
                        SERVANTS! Think about the difference.



Romans 6:19   KJ:       "... now yield your members SERVANTS to
                        righteousness ..."

              NLT:      "... Now you must choose to be slaves of
                        righteousness ..."

              COMMENT:  Again, are we 'slaves' or "SERVANTS"?
                        Answer: SERVANTS! There is a difference.



Romans 6:22   KJ:       "But now being made free from sin, and become
                        SERVANTS to God, ..."

              NLT:      "But now you are free from the power of sin
                        and have become slaves of God. ..."

              COMMENT:  WHAT? 'Slaves of God'? No! No! No! We
                        are "SERVANTS" to God, as properly
                        stated in the King James Bible.



Romans 8:1    KJ:       "[There is] therefore now no condemnation to
                        them which are in Christ Jesus, WHO WALK NOT
                        AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT."

              NLT:      "So now there is no condemnation for those
                        who belong to Christ Jesus."

              COMMENT:  AN IMPORTANT QUALIFICATION is in the second
                        half of the verse, but the NLT omits it.



Romans 9:5    KJ:       "... concerning the flesh Christ [came], who
                        is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen."

              NLT:      "... and Christ himself was a Jew, as far as
                        his human nature is concerned. And he is God,
                        who rules over everything ..."

              COMMENT:  NOTE---These verses are twisted. The subject
                        Christ is actually SEPARATED from God as
                        they are broken into 2 separate sentences.
                        Take time to consider this deception.



Romans 10:17  KJ:       "So then faith [cometh] by hearing, AND
                        HEARING BY THE WORD OF GOD."

              NLT:      "Yet faith comes from listening to this
                        message of good news -- the Good News about
                        Christ."



Romans 13:9   KJ:       "... Thou shalt not bear false witness, ..."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  The Bible says that all liars (false
                        witnesses) go to the lake of fire
                        (Rev. 21:8). So why leave this out?



Romans 14:1   KJ:       "Him that is weak in the faith receive ye,
                        [but] not to DOUBTFUL disputations."

              NLT:      "Accept Christians who are weak in faith,
                        and don't argue with them about what they
                        think is right or wrong."

              COMMENT:  Notice: The KJ does NOT say we cannot
                        have disputes; only that we should not
                        have DOUBTFUL disputes. What are
                        doubtful disputes? Whether we can 'eat
                        all things' or only 'herbs'(Romans 14:2)
                        or whether we 'esteem every day alike'
                        or 'one day over another' (Romans 14:5).
                        But, in the NLT we would NEVER DISPUTE
                        ANYTHING including KEY DOCTRINE like
                        Paul and Barnabus going up to Jerusalem
                        concerning whether circumcision was
                        necessary for salvation (Acts 15:1-2).
                        The NLT would also come against both
                        Titus 1:9 where we are to use sound
                        doctrine to CONVINCE THE GAINSAYERS
                        and 2Tim. 3:16 where ALL SCRIPTURE is
                        profitable for REPROOF and for
                        CORRECTION.



Romans 16:24  KJ:       "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [be]
                        with you all. Amen."

              NLT:      Omitted.

              COMMENT:  The vast majority of manuscripts have this
                        verse.



1Cor. 1:18    KJ:       "For the preaching of the cross is to them
                        that perish foolishness; but unto us which
                        ARE SAVED it is the power of God." 

              NLT:      "I know very well how foolish the message of
                        the cross sounds to those who are on the road
                        to destruction. But we who are BEING SAVED 
                        recognize this message as the very power of
                        God."

              COMMENT:  'Being saved'? The NLT is teaching AGAIN that
                        salvation is a PROCESS. NOT TRUE. It is an
                        IMMEDIATE EVENT.



1Cor. 1:22    KJ:       "For the Jews REQUIRE a sign, ..."

              NLT:      "... Jews ... want a sign ..."



1Cor. 5:4     KJ:       "In the name of our Lord Jesus CHRIST, ..."

              NLT:      "in the name of the Lord Jesus,"

              COMMENT:  "CHRIST" is omitted. Are the translators of
                        these 'new versions' really saved?



1Cor. 5:7     KJ:       "... For even Christ our passover IS
                        sacrificed for us:"

              NLT:      "... Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been
                        sacrificed for us."

              COMMENT:  The NLT changes the verb tense.



1Cor. 6:9-10  KJ:       "... Be not deceived: neither fornicators,
                        ... NOR EFFEMINATE, ... shall inherit the
                        kingdom of God."

              NLT:      "nor effeminate" has been OMITTED in NLT.



1Cor. 6:20    KJ:       "For ye are bought with a price: therefore
                        GLORIFY God in your body, AND IN YOUR SPIRIT,
                        WHICH ARE GOD'S."

              NLT:      "for God bought you with a high price. So you
                        must honor God with your body."

              COMMENT:  We are to GLORIFY God and not just 'honor'
                        him. Also, scripture has been OMITTED with
                        no reason given.



1Cor. 7:5     KJ:       "... give yourselves to FASTING and prayer;
                        ..."

              NLT:      "... give themselves more completely to
                        prayer. ..."

              COMMENT:  Why does the NLT remove FASTING?



1Cor. 7:25    KJ:       "Now concerning VIRGINS ..."

              NLT:      "Now, about the young women who are not yet
                        married."

              COMMENT:  'New versions", including the NLT, eliminate
                        VIRGINS. But, there is a BIG difference
                        between VIRGINS and the 'not yet married'.



1Cor. 7:39    KJ:       "The wife is BOUND BY THE LAW as long as her
                        husband liveth; ..."

              NLT:      "A wife is married to her husband as long as
                        he lives. ..."



1Cor. 9:1     KJ:       "... have I not seen Jesus CHRIST our Lord?
                        ..."

              NLT:      "... Haven't I seen Jesus our Lord ..."

              COMMENT:  Again, no reason is given for omitting the
                        name "CHRIST". 



1Cor. 9:27    KJ:       "But I keep ... my body, ... into subjection:
                        lest ... I myself should be a CASTAWAY."

              NLT:      "I discipline my body ... Otherwise, ... I
                        myself might be disqualified."

              COMMENT:  Being a "CASTAWAY" and being 'disqualified'
                        are VERY DIFFERENT. Think about it.



1Cor. 11:24   KJ:       "And when he had given thanks, he brake [it],
                        and said, Take, EAT: this is my body, which
                        is BROKEN for you: ..."

              NLT:      "and when he had given thanks, he broke it
                        and said, 'This is my body, which is given
                        for you. Do this in remembrance of me.'"

              COMMENT:  The NLT misses a HUGE point: Christ's body
                        was BROKEN for us. Also notice: The NLT
                        leaves out what we are to do with the
                        bread/wafer (i.e. EAT it).



1Cor. 11:29   KJ:       "For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily,
                        eateth and drinketh DAMNATION TO HIMSELF,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "For if you eat the bread or drink the cup
                        unworthily, ... you are eating and drinking
                        God's judgment upon yourself."

              COMMENT:  The NLT waters down God's WARNING.



1Cor. 15:1    KJ:       "Moreover, BRETHREN, I declare unto you THE
                        GOSPEL ..."

              NLT:      "Now let me remind you, dear brothers and
                        sisters, of the Good News I preached to you
                        before. ..."

              COMMENT:  If you get a raise at work that is 'good
                        news'! But, that is NOT the "GOSPEL". The KJ
                        says to declare THE GOSPEL. Also, the NLT is
                        trying to water down men by its "gender
                        neutral" approach of 'brothers and sisters'
                        instead of "BRETHREN". (Political correctness
                        has crept into the NLT).



1Cor. 15:2    KJ:       "By which also ye are saved, ..."

              NLT:      "And it is this Good News that saves you ..."

              COMMENT:  'Good news' does NOT save!  Come on! The
                        birth of my daughter was good news! But, it
                        didn't save anyone! It's the GOSPEL OF CHRIST
                        that is the power of God unto salvation
                        (Romans 1:16).



1Cor. 15:45   KJ:       "... The first man Adam was made a living
                        SOUL; ..."

              NLT:      "... The first man, Adam, became a living
                        person. ..."

              COMMENT:  A MAJOR difference between man and beast is
                        that man is the ONLY creature with a "SOUL".



1Cor. 16:23   KJ:       "The grace of our Lord Jesus CHRIST [be] with
                        you."

              NLT:      "May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with
                        you."

              COMMENT:  Why do they keep insisting on eliminating
                        the name "CHRIST"?  Grace (that we can
                        CONSTANTLY DEPEND ON) doesn't come from
                        everyone named 'Jesus', but only from THE
                        ONE AND ONLY: JESUS CHRIST.



2Cor. 2:15    KJ:       "For we are unto God a sweet savour of
                        Christ, in them THAT ARE SAVED, ..."

              NLT:      "Our lives are a fragrance presented by
                        Christ to God. But this fragrance is
                        perceived differently by those BEING
                        SAVED ..."

              COMMENT:  What? Again? The NLT is teaching salvation
                        is a PROCESS. Wrong! It is an IMMEDIATE
                        event.



2Cor. 2:17    KJ:       "For we are not as many, which CORRUPT the
                        word of God: ..."

              NLT:      "... we are not like those hucksters ... who
                        preach just to make money. ..."

              COMMENT:  Come on! PREACHING for money AND CORRUPTING
                        the word of God are VERY different. 'Modern
                        versions' try and hide from the truth they
                        are CORRUPTING the word of God.



2Cor. 5:17    KJ:       "... behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW."

              NLT:      "... A new life has begun!"

              COMMENT:  ALL THINGS are become new, not JUST a new
                        life. ANOTHER watered down verse.



2Cor. 10:4    KJ:       "(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not
                        carnal, but mighty THROUGH GOD to the pulling
                        down of strong holds;)"

              NLT:      "We use God's mighty weapons, not mere
                        worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil's
                        strongholds."



2Cor. 10:5    KJ:       "Casting down IMAGINATIONS, and every high
                        thing ..." 

              NLT:      "... we break down every proud argument ..."

              COMMENT:  It's IMAGINATIONS that can sometimes BAIT US
                        into sin.



2Cor. 11:31   KJ:       "The God and Father of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "God, the Father of our Lord Jesus, ..."

              COMMENT:  We ask in all sincerity, "Are the translators
                        anxious to get rid of the name CHRIST
                        altogether?"



Gal. 2:20     KJ:       "I AM crucified with Christ: nevertheless I
                        live; ..."

Gal. 2:19-20  NLT:      "... I have been crucified with Christ. I
                        myself no longer live, ..."

              COMMENT:  The NLT says their crucifixion is over
                        (i.e. 'have been', PAST TENSE). NOT true.
                        The believer's crucifixion is a PRESENT
                        TENSE transaction. Also, we are no longer
                        dead the way the NLT infers.



Gal. 5:12     KJ:       "I would they were even cut off which trouble
                        you."

              NLT:      "I only wish that those troublemakers ...
                        would MUTILATE themselves."

              COMMENT:  WHAT?  The NLT says the Apostle Paul wanted
                        some people to be 'MUTILATED'?  What kind 
                        of PERVERSION is the NLT teaching? Folks:
                        THAT IS what the NLT says. CHECK IT OUT.



Gal. 6:17     KJ:       "... for I bear IN my body the marks of the
                        LORD JESUS."

              NLT:      "... For I bear ON my body the scars that
                        show I belong to Jesus."

              COMMENT:  The translators don't seem to like the name
                        "Lord" either. Also, the marks of the Lord
                        Jesus are INSIDE our body, NOT outside. This
                        isn't cattle branding we are discussing.



Eph. 1:6      KJ:       "... he hath made us ACCEPTED IN THE
                        BELOVED."

              NLT:      "... because we belong to his dearly loved
                        Son."

              COMMENT:  'Belonging to his dearly loved Son' does
                        NOT NECESSARILY mean that WE are also 
                        loved! Do you see the "sleight of hand"
                        here? The King James has the CORRECT DOCTRINE
                        which is: WE ARE "ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED",
                        (i.e. WE ARE ALSO LOVED). This corruption
                        is SUBTLE.



Eph. 3:14     KJ:       "For this cause I bow my knees unto the
                        Father OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,"

              NLT:      "... I fall to my knees and pray to the
                        Father,"

              COMMENT:  Which Father is the NLT talking about? Satan
                        is a father (the "father" of lies). Only the
                        KJ says: It is the Father OF THE LORD JESUS
                        CHRIST. 



Eph. 5:1      KJ:       "Be ye therefore FOLLOWERS of God, ..."

              NLT:      "Follow God's example ..."


              Comment:  Following 'God's example' and FOLLOWING GOD
                        are totally different. Think about it. 



Eph. 5:9      KJ:       "(For the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT [is] in all
                        goodness and righteousness and truth;)"

              NLT:      "For this light within you produces only
                        what is good and right and true."

              COMMENT:  Who/what is this 'light' that the NLT is
                        referring to?  Also, "SPIRIT" and 'light'
                        are NOT the same.



Eph. 5:30     KJ:       "For we are MEMBERS of his body, OF HIS
                        FLESH, AND OF HIS BONES."

              NLT:      "And we are his body."



Philip. 2:6   KJ:       "Who, being in the form of God, thought it
                        not robbery TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD:"

              NLT:      "Though he was God, he did not demand and
                        cling to his rights as God."

              COMMENT:  Those 2 verses are DIFFERENT ...



Philip. 3:8   KJ:       "... DUNG, ..."

              NLT:      "... garbage, ..."

              COMMENT:  I have some trash on the top of my office
                        desk, but I don't want "DUNG" there!!!



Philip. 3:21  KJ:       "Who shall change our VILE BODY, that it may
                        be fashioned like unto his glorious body,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "He will take these weak mortal bodies of
                        ours and change them into glorious bodies
                        like his own, ..."

              COMMENT:  'Weak mortal bodies'?  The problem is that
                        our bodies are VILE.  Our heart is
                        desperately WICKED (Jer. 17:9). Our FLESH
                        IS SINFUL (Romans 8:3). There is NO GOOD
                        THING that dwells in our flesh (Romans 7:18)
                        etc.



Col. 1:14     KJ:       "In whom we have REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS
                        BLOOD, [even] the forgiveness of sins:"

              NLT:      "God has purchased our freedom with his blood
                        and has forgiven all our sins."

              COMMENT:  Prisoners released from jail have 'freedom',
                        but that is not "REDEMPTION".



Col. 1:16     KJ:       "For BY HIM were all things created, ..."

              NLT:      "Christ is the one through whom God created
                        ..."

              COMMENT:  "BY" and 'through' are NOT the same.




Col. 2:2      KJ:       "... to the acknowledgement of the mystery
                        OF GOD, AND OF THE FATHER, AND OF CHRIST;"

              NLT:      "... God's secret plan, which is Christ
                        himself."

              COMMENT:  God the FATHER is omitted.



Col. 2:9      KJ:       "For IN HIM DWELLETH ALL THE FULNESS OF THE
                        GODHEAD BODILY."

              NLT:      "For in Christ the fullness of God lives in
                        a human body,"

              COMMENT:  The NLT makes God SEPARATE from Christ. 
                        Only the King James Bible makes Christ God,
                        as Christ is part of the Godhead.

              COMMENT:  "AFFECTIONS" are of the HEART. 'Thoughts'
                        are only of the mind. And the condition of

                        NLT, notice: Christ has been dis-associated

1Tim. 5:21    KJ:       "I charge [thee] before God, and the LORD
                        Jesus Christ, ..."

              NLT:      "I solemnly charge you in the presence of
                        God and Christ Jesus ..."



1Tim. 6:1     KJ:       "... that the name of God and [his] DOCTRINE
                        be not BLASPHEMED."

              NLT:      "... that the name of God and his teaching
                        will not be shamed."

              COMMENT:  I can teach 2+2=4 but that is NOT "DOCTRINE".
                        Also, 'shame' is not even close to BLASPHEMY. 
                        The NLT ruins this important verse.



1Tim. 6:5     KJ:       "... men of corrupt minds, and destitute of
                        the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:
                        FROM SUCH WITHDRAW THYSELF."

              NLT:      "... Their minds are corrupt, and they don't
                        tell the truth. To them religion is just a
                        way to get rich."

              COMMENT:  The phrase: "FROM SUCH WITHDRAW THYSELF" is
                        omitted. Also notice: Effectively the King
                        James is warning about people that suppose
                        GAIN IS GODLINESS, but the NLT is warning
                        about people that suppose GODLINESS IS GAIN.
                        The NLT is exactly BACKWARDS.



1Tim. 6:10    KJ:       "For the love of money is THE root of all
                        evil: ..."

              NLT:      "For the love of money is at the root of all
                        kinds of evil. ..."

              COMMENT:  No, the love of money is NOT 'at' the root;
                        it is THE root. The correct reading is in
                        the King James Bible.



1Tim. 6:19    KJ:       "... that they may lay hold on ETERNAL LIFE."

              NLT:      "... that they may take hold of real life."

              COMMENT:  'Real life' on this earth DOES NOT COMPARE
                        to "ETERNAL LIFE"!



1Tim. 6:20    KJ:       "... avoiding ... oppositions of SCIENCE
                        falsely so called:"

              NLT:      "... Avoid ... discussions with those who
                        oppose you with their so-called knowledge."

              COMMENT:  It's NOT 'knowledge' that sometimes attacks
                        the gospel, it's "SCIENCE" falsely so called.

                        BTW, has been proven wrong at some good

              COMMENT:  We are supposed to STUDY the word of God.

              COMMENT:  WHAT?  JESUS CHRIST was divisive!!!  The KJ
                        is correct: The one that holds to false
                        doctrine (the HERETICK) is the one to be
                        REJECTED, NOT the one exposing the false
                        doctrine.



Philemon 6    KJ:       "... every good thing which is in you IN
                        CHRIST JESUS."

              NLT:      "... of all the good things we can do for
                        Christ."

              COMMENT:  The King James Bible gives glory to CHRIST
                        JESUS; the NLT emphasizes MAN.



Heb. 1:3      KJ:       (Jesus) "Who BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF [his]
                        glory, and the express image of his person,
                        ... when he had BY HIMSELF PURGED OUR SINS,
                        sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on
                        high;"

              NLT:      "The Son reflects God's own glory, ... After
                        he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin,
                        he sat down in the place of honor at the
                        right hand of the majestic God of heaven."


              COMMENT:  "BEING THE BRIGHTNESS OF" and reflecting it
                        are two VASTLY DIFFERENT situations. Also,
                        when Jesus Christ purged our sins he did it
                        ALONE and FOR US! Lastly, he PURGED OUR SINS
                        not just cleaned up the 'stain' of our sin.



Heb. 2:7      KJ:       "... thou crownedst him with glory and
                        honour, AND DIDST SET HIM OVER THE WORKS OF
                        THY HANDS:"

              NLT:      ".. you crowned him with glory and honor."

              COMMENT:  Jesus' being OVER ALL has been REMOVED in
                        the NLT.



Heb. 2:16     KJ:       "For verily he took not on [him the nature
                        of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of
                        Abraham."

              NLT:      "We all know that Jesus came to help the
                        descendants of Abraham, not to help the
                        angels."

              COMMENT:  The NLT is not even close.



Heb. 3:1      KJ:       "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of THE
                        heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and
                        High Priest of our profession, CHRIST JESUS;"

              NLT:      "And so, dear friends who belong to God and
                        are bound for heaven, think about this Jesus
                        who we declare to be God's Messenger and High
                        Priest."

              COMMENT:  Are we 'friends' or "HOLY BRETHREN?" Do we
                        have a "HEAVENLY CALLING" or the more watered
                        down: people 'bound for heaven'? Is he CHRIST
                        JESUS, or just Jesus? Lastly, is Jesus just
                        a 'messenger' or is he an APOSTLE? The NLT
                        has made a mess of this verse.



Heb. 7:21     KJ:       "... Thou [art] a priest for ever AFTER THE
                        ORDER OF MELCHISEDEC:)"

              NLT:      "... You are a priest forever."

              COMMENT:  What type of priest? We don't know from the
                        NLT because "after the order of Melchisedec"
                        has been omitted.



Heb. 10:30    KJ:       "For we know him that hath said, Vengeance
                        [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, SAITH
                        THE LORD. ..."

              NLT:      "For we know the one who said, 'I will take
                        vengeance, I will repay those who deserve
                        it.'"

              COMMENT:  'Knowing the one who said ...' is vague and
                        could be anybody. This verse is supposed to
                        be about GOD, as stated in the King James
                        Bible.



Heb. 11:6     KJ:       "... he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY
                        seek him."

              NLT:      "... he rewards those who sincerely seek
                        him."

              COMMENT:  We must DILIGENTLY seek him.



James 5:16    KJ:       "Confess [your] FAULTS one to another, ..."

              NLT:      "Confess your sins to each other ..."

              COMMENT:  The Bible says that ONLY GOD can forgive
                        sins. Therefore, we are supposed to confess
                        our SINS to him. We should, however, confess
                        our FAULTS to one another. Note: This
                        doctrinal error in the NLT is ALSO in
                        Catholic doctrine and practices.



1Peter 1:22   KJ:       "Seeing ye have purified your souls in
                        obeying the truth THROUGH THE SPIRIT ..."

              NLT:      "... you were cleansed from your sins when
                        you accepted the truth of the Good News."

              COMMENT:  What happened to God's Holy Spirit?  The
                        King James gives God's Holy Spirit the glory.
                        The NLT credits man.



1Peter 2:2    KJ:       "... desire the sincere milk of the word,
                        that ye may GROW THEREBY:"

              NLT:      "... crave pure spiritual milk so that you
                        can GROW INTO the fullness of your
                        SALVATION."

              COMMENT:  What?  Read this very carefully.  'Growing
                        ... into salvation ...' is salvation by
                        WORKS.



1Peter 3:15   KJ:       "But sanctify THE LORD GOD in your hearts:
                        ..."

              NLT:      "Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of
                        your life."

              COMMENT:  The two verses are not even close enough to
                        compare. Does the reader see any similarity?



1Peter 4:1    KJ:       "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered FOR
                        US in the flesh, ..."

              NLT:      "So then, since Christ suffered physical
                        pain, ..."

              COMMENT:  Christ suffered FOR US: an important
                        point, don't you think?



1Peter 4:14   KJ:       "If ye be reproached for the name of Christ,
                        happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and
                        of God resteth upon you: ON THEIR PART HE IS
                        EVIL SPOKEN OF, BUT ON YOUR PART HE IS
                        GLORIFIED."

              NLT:      "Be happy if you are insulted for being a
                        Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of
                        God will come upon you."

              COMMENT:  The NLT leaves out the GLORY God deserves.



1Peter 5:11   KJ:       "To him [be] GLORY AND DOMINION for ever and
                        ever. Amen."

              NLT:      "All power is his forever and ever. Amen."



2Peter 2:1    KJ:       "... there shall be false teachers among
                        you, who privily shall bring in DAMNABLE
                        HERESIES, ..."

              NLT:      "... there will be false teachers among you.
                        They will cleverly teach their destructive
                        heresies ..."

              COMMENT:  The problem is that the heresies are
                        DAMNABLE.



2Peter 2:17   KJ:       "... to whom the mist of darkness is
                        reserved FOR EVER."

              NLT:      "... They are doomed to blackest darkness."

              COMMENT:  FOR EVER is a long time. Yet, that part of
                        the WARNING has been DELETED in the NLT.



1John 1:7     KJ:       "... and the blood of Jesus CHRIST his Son
                        cleanseth us from all sin."

              NLT:      "... and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
                        cleanses us from every sin."



1John 2:20    KJ:       "But ye have AN UNCTION from the Holy One,
                        and ye know all things."

              NLT:      "... the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and
                        all of you know the truth."



1John 3:16    KJ:       "Hereby perceive we the LOVE [OF GOD], ..."

              NLT:      "We know what real love is ..."

              COMMENT:  God is left out! What happened to GIVING GOD
                        THE GLORY for his love?



1John 4:3     KJ:       "And every spirit that CONFESSETH NOT THAT
                        JESUS CHRIST IS COME IN THE FLESH is not of
                        God: ..."

              NLT:      "If a prophet does not acknowledge Jesus,
                        that person is not from God."

              COMMENT:  What? What?  A prophet?  This verse is NOT
                        about testing prophets; it's about testing
                        for evil spirits/spirit of anti-christ! 
                        Also, the test is NOT whether the spirit
                        'acknowledges' Jesus. Remember, EVIL SPIRITS
                        DID CONFESS/ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS. In Luke 4:34
                        (and in Mark 1:24) a man having a "spirit of
                        an unclean devil" said to Jesus: "... Let
                        [us] alone; what have we to do with thee,
                        [THOU] JESUS OF NAZARETH? art thou come to
                        destroy us? I KNOW THEE who thou art; THE
                        HOLY ONE OF GOD."

                        'New versions' like the NLT corrupt the test
                        for the anti-christ/test for evil spirits.



1John 4:19    KJ:       "We love HIM, because he first loved us."

              NLT:      "We love each other as a result of his loving
                        us first."

              COMMENT:  The NLT missed the topic, totally. "We love
                        HIM, because he first loved us."



1John 5:6-7   KJ:       "This is he that came by water and blood,
                        [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but
                        by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that
                        beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
                        For there are three THAT BEAR RECORD IN
                        HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY
                        GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE."

              NLT:      "And Jesus Christ was revealed as God's Son,
                        by his baptism in water and by shedding his
                        blood on the cross-not by water only, but by
                        water and blood. And the Spirit also gives
                        us the testimony that this is true. 7 So, we
                        have these three witnesses--"

              COMMENT:  What three witnesses? Notice how verse 7
                        seems to leave the reader hanging. It is
                        because a large portion of verse 7 is
                        missing.



1John 5:8     KJ:       "AND THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR WITNESS IN
                        EARTH, the spirit, and the water, and the
                        blood: and these three agree IN ONE."

              NLT:      "the Spirit, the water, and the blood-and all
                        three agree."



1John 5:13    KJ:       "... that ye may know that ye have eternal
                        life, AND THAT YE MAY BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF
                        THE SON OF GOD."

              NLT:      "... so that you may know you have eternal
                        life."

              COMMENT:  No reason is given for this section of
                        scripture being omitted.



2John 1:3     KJ:       "Grace be with you, mercy, [and] peace, from
                        God the Father, and from THE LORD Jesus
                        Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and
                        love."

              NLT:      "May grace, mercy, and peace, which come from
                        God our Father and from Jesus Christ his Son,
                        be with us who live in truth and love."



Rev. 1:9      KJ:       "... and FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST."

              NLT:      "... and speaking about Jesus."

              COMMENT:  Notice the change ... John wasn't SPEAKING
                        ABOUT Jesus; he was a vessel GIVING US the
                        TESTIMONY OF Jesus.



Rev. 1:11     KJ:       "Saying, I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE FIRST AND
                        THE LAST: and, What thou seest, write in a
                        book, ..."

              NLT:      "It said, 'Write down what you see, ...'"

              COMMENT:  Jesus, as THE ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE FIRST
                        AND THE LAST, is omitted.



Rev. 5:14     KJ:       "... And the four [and] twenty elders fell
                        down and worshipped HIM THAT LIVETH FOR EVER
                        AND EVER."

              NLT:      "... And the twenty-four elders fell down and
                        worshipped God and the Lamb."

              COMMENT:  We worship him that "LIVETH FOR EVER AND
                        EVER"!



Rev. 6:17     KJ:       "For the great day of HIS wrath is come; and
                        who shall be able to stand?"

              NLT:      "For the great day of their wrath has come,
                        and who will be able to survive?"

              COMMENT:  There's quite a difference between 'their'
                        wrath and "HIS" wrath!



Rev. 8:13     KJ:       "... and heard AN ANGEL flying ..."

              NLT:      "... And I heard a single eagle crying loudly
                        as it flew ..."

              COMMENT:  How can translators mis-translate ANGEL as
                        eagle? And, whoever heard of an eagle
                        'crying'?



Rev. 11:17    KJ:       "... We give thee thanks, O Lord God
                        Almighty, which art, and wast, AND ART TO
                        COME; ..."

              NLT:      "... We give thanks to you, Lord God
                        Almighty, the one who is and who always was,
                        ..."

              COMMENT:  WHO IS IT that is COMING AGAIN? That's right:
                        JESUS! But, the NLT OMITS IT.



Rev. 12:12    KJ:       "... Woe to THE INHABITERS OF the earth and
                        of the sea! ..."

              NLT:      "... But terror will come on the earth and
                        the sea. ..."

              COMMENT:  There is a BIG DIFFERENCE in terror coming
                        to the 'earth and the sea' vs. to the
                        "INHABITERS OF" the earth and the sea.



Rev. 13:16    KJ:       "And he causeth all, ... to receive a mark
                        IN their right hand, or IN their foreheads:"

              NLT:      "He required everyone- ... to be given a
                        mark ON the right hand or ON the forehead."

              COMMENT:  The "mark of the beast" will be IN the right
                        hand or IN the forehead (as in the
                        possibility of a microchip, or something IN
                        the skin that CANNOT be washed off, etc.).
                        Note: Something ON the right hand or ON the
                        forehead could be more easily REMOVED.



Rev. 15:3     KJ:       "... thou King OF SAINTS."

              NLT:      "... O King of the nations."

              COMMENT:  There's a BIG difference. Think about it.



Rev. 19:8     KJ:       "And to her was granted that she should be
                        arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for
                        the fine linen is the RIGHTEOUSNESS of
                        saints."

              NLT:      "She is permitted to wear the finest white
                        linen. (Fine linen represents the good deeds
                        done by the people of God.)"

              COMMENT:  The fine linen is the RIGHTEOUSNESS of
                        saints (which GOD GAVE TO US and HE GETS THE
                        GLORY for it). The fine linen IS NOT the good
                        deeds of the people of God (which would give
                        man the glory).



Rev. 20:9     KJ:       "... and fire came down FROM GOD out of
                        heaven, ..."

              NLT:      "But fire from heaven came down ..."

              COMMENT:  It was GOD that judged (an important
                        point).



Rev. 21:24    KJ:       "And the nations of them WHICH ARE SAVED
                        shall walk in the light of it: ..."

              NLT:      "The nations of the earth will walk in its
                        light, ..."

              COMMENT:  There's a BIG difference in those two
                        verses, too.



Rev. 22:14    KJ:       "Blessed [are] they THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS,
                        ..."

              NLT:      "Blessed are those who wash their robes ..."

              COMMENT:  What? 'Wash their robes'? Are those two
                        verses the same? Brothers and sisters: If
                        you want to be BLESSED, then BE SURE to DO
                        HIS (Jesus') COMMANDMENTS!
